This poster was made for a class assignment I had in my Graphic Design 1 class. We were assigned to create a poster for a “proposed” event at PAMM (Perez Art Museum Miami) that would promote a famous graphic designer’s exhibition or lecture that would happen at the museum. We were given a list of famous names and historic figures in the field of graphic design to choose as our subject. From that list, I ultimately chose Louise Fili at the last minute since everyone else was taken. Additionally, aside from a poster, we were also assigned to create a short presentation about the designer and the work they’ve done.
Our poster and presentation had to pay homage to the style of the respective designer. Everything down from the typefaces, composition, layout, aesthetics, visuals, and even the small details in the poster were designed as if it was produced by Louise Fili. That includes the illustration of the pocket watch, which I illustrated in Procreate. Additional touch ups were done in Adobe Photoshop and the text was created in Illustrator.
Below is an interactive 12-page PDF flip book of the presentation for viewing. It contains additional background information regarding the design process and inspiration behind the poster. Use the slider below or drag your mouse cursor left and right to the pages to take a look.
